Dutch band The Postponers play reserved, explosive, emotional, happy, tormented, but above all, always passionately delivered indierock.
The media about debut album The Concept: 'full of rocking guitars and catchy, melodic arrangements' (LiveXS), 'in the spirit of Thom Yorke and his mates' (FRET), 'pure guitar pop ... high, Buckley-like vocals' (KindaMuzik).
The band was formed in 2005, around songwriter/singer/guitarist J.B. Dazen, who wins the Groningse Singersongwriterwedstrijd of the same year. This produces the first release by The Postponers: the song Goodbye is included on De Slag van Groverpop 2006, the annual sampler of the Groningen pop organisation. Combined with two other songs, Goodbye becomes their first demo in March 2006. In that time, that song is played regularly on the Groningen OOG radio.
In Februari 2007, the band releases a new single, Speed Of A Highway, which becomes marathonschijf (weekly most played record) on OOG radio. In June 2007, the band release the debut album, titled The Concept. The release is enforced by a teasercampagne ('Are you familiar with The Concept?'), which gets The Postponers quite some media attention. Speed Of A Highway is played on national radio station Kink FM. The new single Do You Know Love becomes the second marathonschijf on OOG radio.
The band rapidly gain live experience. In January 2008 The Postponers perform a highly attented showcase at Eurosonic. They also play in different venues in northern Netherlands, including Vera, Simplon, Romein and Subtunes.
After some line-up changes, The Postponers, besides J.B. Dazen, now exist of: Frank Kroon (keys/guitar) Sebastiaan Herber (bass) and Jaïr Wassink (drums). In this line-up, the band is now working on new repertoire.
