I was born between here and there...Tijuana to be exact. My pops washed our hands and had us cross the border. Got lost on the road to riches and ended up in the Capital of Segregation, otherwise known as Chicago. South side till I die, or until it kills me! My scars were born in the Little Village and Back of the Yards colonias. In the harvest of the drug land, I live under the influence of trying to hide pain. It's the ultimate high. I fell in love with poetry...I can't remember when or what gang border I was submerged in. Hip Hop? I used to love her, I just refuse to be a slave to anything. I put words between coke lines and flat lines, trying to tell the difference between dying slow and living fast. I been down with Skribe from Kinto Sol for like 13 years. So when I was ready to say what I have to say it was only instinct to go with fam. El Hijo de la Calle was a rough draft of the first 24 years of my life. Stories are based on fact, the rest is influences of experience...good or bad. I didn't write the album...it wrote itself in front of my eyes. I used to want to save those that were drowing in that downhill river. Now? Now I hope you help me do that, just to buy enough time to head uphill to catch whoever is throwing my people in.
