Vinos Chueca

The core of the band was formed in Zaragoza (Spain) in the early 1980's under the name "Tela de araña" (Spiderweb). Its first recording was produced in the Tsunami Studios (San Sebastian) in 1983 and even if it contained 10 of the best Spanish rock songs at that time it was never edited, therefore nowadays it has become a cult recording.After a few changes in the composition of "Tela de araña", its frontman Fernando Bastos (a.k.a La Magra Humana) renamed the new refreshed band "Bandera Blanca" (White Flag) whose drummer at the time was the international musician Eva Amaral. Bandera Blanca released a record under the title of "Si se nos permite" (If we are allowed) recorded in Barcelona in 1992, and a video clip of a live gig in Madrid.The name of the band was changed to "Vinos Chueca" in 1997 and is the natural progression as a singer-songwriter of Fernando Bastos, who musically plays with new elements such as rhythm'n'blues, swing and Spanish folk influenced tunes mixed with rock'n'roll.April 2003 saw the release on INGUZ records of the band's album "Una aventura de la Magra Humana" (An adventure of the Magra Humana). This record was introduced in 2004 on the stages of Spain's main cities, finishing their tour in the Luna Lunera Festival (Huesca).Currently they are introducing their latest album "Gente que no sabe nada de la vida" (Pleople who know nothing about life) recorded on INGUZ records between April and May 2005. In this new work they recover their characteristic pop-rock sound from the early 1980's, a touch of swing plus, of course, classic rock'n'roll. They are the only band who played for a second year in a row in the Luna Lunera Festival (Huesca) due to popular request, sharing stage with the likes of Marianne Faithful, Robyn Hitchcock and George Moustakis among others.
