I am here for Friends

About Me

30ish, American, occasionally "Hasian" (hot asian), college/street educated (NYU and the School of Hard Knocks [Master's Degree program]), somewhat funny, taller than you think, smarter than I look, and regrets? I've had a few. A practictioner - nay, disciple - of the physical and mental disciplines both ancient and modern.

My Interests

The whole broad spectrum - writing, poetry, military history, samurai, ninjas, martial arts (esp. Muay Thai), animation, movies, good food, fine drink, and interesting concepts, premises, and ideas.

I'd like to meet:

Friends, Romans, countrymen, and ladies.

Music:

Joy Division/New Order (Peter Hook = the best bass player in the world, IMO), Tom Waits, Nick Cave, James Taylor, Carole King, the White Stripes, the Smiths, Nina Simone, Bob Dylan, the Beatles, Led Zep, Nirvana, 70's Soul/R&B (i.e., Earth, Wind & Fire), Big Band Jazz, Big Beat Dance, Jungle, and a whole host of others.

Movies:

The LOTR trilogy, Black Hawk Down, Casablanca, the Wild Bunch, Star Wars (Original Trilogy), Indiana Jones trilogy, Wings of Desire, the first Matrix, Blazing Saddles, The Producers, The Big Lebowski, and pretty much any film with the names Mifune or Kurosawa.

Television:

Seinfeld, Get a Life!, Farscape, the X-Files (seasons 1-7, not the last two crap seasons), Jake 2.0, Curb Your Enthusiasm, the Sopranos, and anything on the History, Discovery and Learning Channels.
