Learning Spanish and Expanding My World. Writing. Music. Hanging out with my friends. Old school video games. Wandering Aimlessly. Coffee Shops. Scrabble. Oatmeal. Taking useless pictures. Dancing in the rain, Feeding the hungry, Junior high kids, Late night conversations, Meeting new people, Old horror films, Peppermint tea, Playing guitar, Snowball fights, The night sky, Thunderstorms, and the list goes on. . .
Alright, you got me. I DO want to meet you.
Here's a quick top 5 so you don't have to wade through the long list:
Rise Against, Thrice, Death On Wednesday, Avail, Duvall
Now if you're brave or just really curious, here are the rest:
Shipping News, American Steel, Moral Crux, mewithoutYou, One 21, The Deal, The Decemberists, The Shins, Belle & Sebastian, Pretty Girls Make Graves, Joy Electric, Suffering and the Hideous Thieves, Hangnail, Ghoti Hook, Rich Mullins, Patty Griffin, Willy Porter, Denovo, Sir Edward Elgar, Ani Difranco, Bob Dylan, Park, Beulah, Dropkick Murphys, The Carrie Nations, The Deadlines, Cursive, Planes Mistaken For Stars, Ornette Coleman, Damien Jurado, Damien Rice, The Getaway, Green Day, A Static Lullaby, Blue Man Group, Broken Social Scene, Pedro the Lion, The Smiths, Enemies, Even In Blackouts, Explosions In the Sky, The New Pornographers, Senses Fail, Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, Sigur Ros, Hot Water Music, The Mars Volta, Turin Brakes, Spy Glass Blue, Small Brown Bike, Louis Armstrong, Houston, Kodo, A Silver Mount Zion, 100 Portraits & Waterdeep, and so very many more.
The Shawshank Redemption is my favorite movie ever. 28 Days Later, Beauty and the Beast, Heaven, Amelie, Angel of the Night, Blues Brothers, Airplane, and Spaceballs are also on my list of well-liked movies. Other than that, my vast cinematic knowledge is limited to old crappy horror movies (which I love) and a small handful of beautiful, more recent films. I've missed seeing so many good movies, I know.
I don't watch tv.
"You're really missing out," you say? Well then, so are you.
Anything by C.S. Lewis (but especially the Chronicles of Narnia and his space trilogy), Blue Like Jazz, The Inside of the Cup, A Pilgrim at Tinker Creek (or anything else by Annie Dillard), Pilgrims Progress, A Wrinkle In Time, The Three Questions, Curious George, and all the Magic School Bus books. I'm sure there are more, but that's all I can think of for now.
C.S. Lewis, Rich Mullins, Amy Carswell, and Mr. Wright (my sixth grade teacher), the apostle Paul, and all my friends.
