About Me

The Funk Runs Deep... Deeper Than You Think. VladG is: drummer, percussionist, multi-instrumentalist, producer, arranger, composer, band leader, lyricist, and writer. He has led large successful Funk bands for the last 7 years, in NYC with Mugwump, and in CT with Kinky Spigot and the Welders - both of which he composed/arranged for, as well as played drums and provided hype on the mic. He also has an ever increasing amount of studio and production experience, both on drums and as producer.
VladG has studied drums with Adam Deitch and Pheroaan Aklaff, vibraphone with Jay Hoggard, and theory/composition with Anthony Braxton as well as Jay Hoggard and David Nelson. He is most experienced in Funk, HipHop, Soul, R&B, and Indie/Dance Rock, but feels equally at home within Jazz, Latin, Electronica, and World music genres. VladG is always looking for new musical collaborators, as well as playing/recording opportunities of all kinds - don't hesitate to get in touch!
Live/Tour credits include: Pupa Bajah and Dry Yai (Modiba), Tina Vero, Mugwump, ZoZo Afrobeat, Kinky Spigot and the Welders, Chase Grey, Bad News (Screw York Records), the StarKillers and many more. Production/Recording credits include: ZoZo Afrobeat, Lynas Productions, Jitter Critters, Mugwump, Cinematic Funkestra.
