Sitting, waiting, wishing..

About Me

So I have this great job at this little non-profit organization called the American Cancer Society. It's fun, and I love it, and sometimes I think that if I have to go to one more training I might die. So that's my full time world. I could say a lot more about what I do, but I'll spare you the details for now. If you really need to know more, just ask!

In my spare time (haha), I finally managed to harness my God-given talent for design and got all caught up in the wonderful world of graphic arts. I freelance my talents when it comes down to people who need pretty marketing materials for their businesses. I'm smart, and I'm freakin' good at what I do. Who knew I had it in me?

The rest of this was kindly written by my best friend, Lora, because I had a brain fart:
Where to begin… I never have a bad hair day, even when it’s all poofy, it’s still “super cute”. My dog is the coolest thing I ever bought myself (ask me about her, I am willing to tell you all about my Roxy). My best friend Lora leaves me random voicemails of her singing some of our favorite songs. My bed is the best bed ever created (anyone want to join me?). OK, on the previous note, those who are married or a priest please do not ask to enter the bed. Nerge may be the best road to ever drive on. Seeing a six foot Jesus can always brighten my day. I do have bad days, believe it or not. I work for the American Cancer Society, but please bring on the Miller Lite, Marlboro Lights and the sun (cancer waiting to happen). My closest friends have left the state of Michigan and now I have to travel to see them. I know everyone in the city of Canton and then some. I love my job, I just want more money to supply my shopping habit (Old Navy and the Lane get me every time). I am at Target at least 2x a week. While driving, I like to prop myself up with a pillow (drivers beware, I may fall asleep). My interior decorating skills impress even me! My brother has been arrested for homeland security threat. If its pink, I like it. What amazes me most is that I have had the same cell phone for over a year now, because I used to go through them 4x a year (hey, I like to keep my phones up to date as long as they are not a flip phone). I hate Buicks, if you drive one I WILL make fun of you. Movies are my favorite hobby. Don’t slobber on my ear. People like me, they really like me. If it hits above 30 degrees, you can guarantee that I am wearing flip flops. I love taking pictures, and if something really catches my eye (like my dog) I will take thousands of photos at different angles. I have my bachelor’s degree after attending 5 colleges…but I DO have it now punks (and despite what Lewis says, I didn’t print my degree out!). My friends can count on me for sound advice or an ear to listen, unless his name is a four letter word. I have a countdown going until Taylor Hicks debuts his first CD. Ask me about Jackpot Party Bingo. The WPR (aka I-696) may be my least favorite road EVER. It doesn’t take me much to have fun, just as long as I am out of my house (unless of course it is family fun game night with my pals). I have been known to be a toothbrush slut on occasions. I cannot go longer than 2 hours without using a restroom. Last but not least, I just want to find a guy just like my Dad (but the hair, well the hair has to be different).

My Interests

camping, hiking, mountain biking, being outside in general, photography, graphic design, sketching, movies, music, traveling, pretending I can play the guitar, socializing, business (like organizational behavior and the concepts of business in general), interior design

I'd like to meet:

Myself in 5 years. I'd like to know the path I'm going to take and be able to improve it.

Music:

I'll listen to pretty much anything, but my favorite is rock..mostly classic and 80's/early 90's. Some faves are Bob Seger, Bon Jovi, Harry Chapin, Guns N' Roses, Metallica, David Gray, Goo Goo Dolls, Matchbox 20, Howie Day, Pink Floyd, REO Speedwagon, Sister Hazel, Van Morrison, and Blue Rodeo (my latest favorite).

Movies:

Depends on the mood. Braveheart, Little Miss Sunshine, Hitch, Harry Potter movies, My Cousin Vinny, Great Outdoors, and Garden State are my old standbys for rainy days.

Television:

Lost, American Idol, and South Park. That's pretty much it, and I'm only addicted to two of them. I'll let you guess.

Books:

DaVinci Code, Angels and Demons, anything by Dan Brown, really...my Astonomy textbook, girly novels.

Heroes:

People who know how to be themselves and enjoy it. They're super heroes if I can be myself around them and they enjoy that, too.
