My name is Ruth but close friends and family members call me Lily, short for Liliana.
Those who barely know me or aren’t close to me are more then welcome to call me Lily. Your choice, I don’t have a preference. I do however; don’t respond when I am being called by my second name in school or work, unless I am able to recognize the voice. I enjoy trying new things, ‘cause life is too short not to appreciate the most insignificant things in life. I love the rain; I find the smell of wet dirt to be irresistible. I like how the dark sky lights up during lightning season and the sound of thunderstorms. I have a decent list of accomplishments in my life and I am fortunate to say that I do. I grew up in a small town in Mexico and I was predisposed to the principals and moral values of the town. Call me “old style†but I truly believe that a young girl/guy should not be engaged in sexual relationships before marriage. I am not concern about the “going to hell†part, but the action of devoting oneself for that special person, that special person that one will share an entire life with. Although, at the rate divorces are going in the US, waiting for that special someone is not worth it, not even the marriage institution!!
I am against capital punishment; I belief that no one has the right to take someone else’s life no matter what genius crime has been committed. One can argue that “our†taxes dollars are going into clothing and feeding the criminals behind bars, while the youth are forgotten and left to suffer due to lack of programs and educational funds. Whatever the case is, the state has no right to take human life, nor it has a right to try juvenile offenders as adults in adult courts.
I am currently unemployed and I love it! I’m an extremely active person, sports wise.
I love helping people, and fundraising for organizations such as the Leukemia and Lymphoma society.
