About Me

I write stories and memories for young people. I mostly write non-fiction because this is important. Poems and stories of the land we live on, about the wildlife we share our Mother Earth with and our people who know the old songs and histories.I love to read fantasy and science fiction. Since I am also a scientist, I like to keep up to date on all scientific type articles. I love maps, old and new, geological ones as well as geographical ones. My degree is in geology, so my house is filled with all kinds of rocks and fossils. It is a very good thing my husband is interested in these things too!!!Before the area where we live started building up, we were considered quite rural. Due to my background, I would visit the DFW museums and borrow some of their dinosaur fossils; rocks and minerals and along with my collection, my husband and I would tour the rural elementary/intermediate schools and give seminars. We also made sure we had a bucket of sand with fossils the students could dig through and keep one fossil. I was known as the "dinosaur lady." - Now that I am older- I'm not so sure this is a complement- LOL!! My friends call me Juls.I enjoy a variety of different kinds of music - but NO country(except Willie - of course) Please take the time to listen to Brule, Bill Miller and Red Road Crossing as they are very good!I also enjoy techno/electronica music, American and European folk music. I have a variety of bands on my profile and I hope you take the time to stop, kick back and listen...I love life, my husband and daughter, my family and circle of friends!!!Thanks for stopping by... :)If you like what you see here, please do not hesitate to add me, I love meeting new people........ julie
