Jacksonville is WAY much more than just the Jaguars... It's the city where you either "are down" or you're "laid out". The city where Midnight Madness is on the minds of every student Friday night in October at the Fair downtown. Regency Mall is your second home! Ribault vs. Raines,Wolfson vs. Englewood, Jackson vs. Lee, Sandalwood vs. Fletcher, and Stanton vs. Paxon were the biggest games that came around. T-Roy and Easy-E got it crunk for you on 92.7 everyday while you listened to either Tom Joyner or Doug Banks in the morning. Every corner store was poppin' after school...and don't let the ice cream man come, cuz were would straight jack his ass! Clicks were formed from middle school up (J.W.J, Northwestern, Bulter, Fort Caroline, D.C,Dirty Kirby Kidz) and the thing to do was to get home to talk about people over the phone. College Nights @ Rain, Foam Parties @ Roxy, and keg parties at houses are right around the corner on the Southside. "Vulgar English" is almost your second language while "ebonics" is your first. Timbaland boots are the offical "ass-whoopin' boot" and every other day, they were being put to use, while J's is da only thing we wear. Winter clothes are on in the winter, and summer clother are on in the summer, not the other way around. You next-door neighboors are of Hispanic decent, and if not that, they speak another language that you might speak as well. Families don't know who they real cousins are, but are quick to claim someone who got a little money in their bank account. Fights involve three niggas instead of two, until the school bus rolls around and 5 more jump in. You know someone that graduate from every high school, but can only make 3 graduation ceremonies because they all fall in the same week. Meeting people at your cousin's b-day party is tradition becuase they invited half the gotdamn nieghboorhood, and knowing "where the hoes at" is the question of the day. Even if it's falling apart, you'll see 6 niggas bamming T.I. out of a car driving about 10 miles over the speed limit. Bass and spinners are a MUST in a Chevy Surburban and a Lincoln Navigator, and the kind where you can heard them 4 cars up at a red light. JTA is your second means of getting home if your car or your homies' car is broke, while you look at all the bums, crackheads, crackwhores, and hoes who ride "your way." Every guy with the name Trey got a "grill". Everybody and they momma got a friend or a relative who's worked at McDonald's or Burger King or Winn Dixie. Every cat you know knows somebody who might know somebody that can hook them up with anything. Jenkin's is the shit and so is Mary Ann's! Everywhere on the Northside is a person selling stolen stuff on the corner expecting you to but it because they "cut you a deal". Your friend's family becomes your family after every cookout and grill their family throws. Your Thursday nights are spent at Kartouche or bourbon street, Friday nights at the Roxy or globe, and Saturday nights at Plush. Every nigga you know got twists or dreds and ladies you know that it's too hot for that weave, but you're gonna wear it anyway. We know that the K-wang, the A-town stomp, or the City Boy ain't ours, but we do it anyway with the heel-to-toe and the Nolia Clap to form our own shit!!!!
