Irish born flautist living and working in the Netherlands. Studied flute with Prof. Doris Keogh at The Royal Irish Academy of Music in Dublin, and later continued studying flute and improvisation with Dick Gout, Ferdinand Povel, Herb Geller and Dick de Graaf at the Rotterdam Conservatory. I've played with various jazz and jazz-rock groups as well as playing tenor sax in a rock band for a while; in two flute quartets (mostly classical repertoire) and in the Blauwdruk Ensemble which was formed to perform the works of contemporary Dutch composer Nico Huijbregts. At present, besides teaching flute, I'm experimenting with creating frameworks for improvisation using computer based programs and sound loops and recording these pieces at my own Overloop Studio in Nijmegen .During the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin I collaborated "virtually" with Christopher Hedge and The Magnetic Poets. The theme of the project was: "One Heart, One Beat, 7 Billion Voices"
