Tony Dez has been working in the Montreal’s hip-hop scene for about 13 years. Collaborating with the city’s finest MC’s and producers, he has performed in over 100 showcases through out the province and the city. First in 1994, he won first place at an important hip-hop competition reuniting all of the city’s top MC’s and urban artists.
Ever since he featured in many albums and compilations. In 1999 he came out with the A.L.S. album, where he was one of three main MC’s and then got recognized as the Local Latin Hip-Hop pioneers. Then in 2001 & 2003 he produced the Smoked and Blessed albums, both reached great street credibility.
Now Tony Dez is ready to come out with he’s first solo self produced album called “Conquistando Americaâ€. In 2006 he participated in well promoted events that brought Dez into prime time radio air play in community radio stations, many interviews and web-magazine articles. This year he started a tour with Malik Shaheed (VJ from MusiquePlus) called Unity Tour. It's a multi cultural tour that makes Tony Dez the representative and spokesman for the Latino-commun ity in Quebec.
Through out the years Tony Dez has earned the respect of the underground as well as the mainstream communities. He is conscious of the influence that he has on many young people and he tries to stay as close as possible to them. Allways sending messages through his words on stage and making youngsters think twice before making any mistakes.
Whether it is a club, a store or community events, Tony Dez is always in constant contact with youth habits, interests and lifestyle. Recently he got the Los Homies sponsorship to promote Jokerbrand in the streets of Montreal, and on the stage.
