Vivid Soul

Daniel Iannone, founder member of Vivid Soul has had a love of music from a very early age, listening to artists such as Stevie Wonder. Michael Jackson, Bob Marley, James Brown that were being played by his parents at the time. This has led to his love of black music and strong rhythmic base music. As a young boy of 11 years his love of rhythm led him to have drumming lessons at his local school. Although this proved to be short lived due to the distractions of other career plans, his love of music still remained deeply embedded within him!During the last few years of his education his friend Ben Ogden (MC) introduced him to the world of hip-hop which he instantly embraced. Shortly after leaving school and earning enough money from his first job he purchased his first pair of turntables and started to learn how to mix and scratch hip-hop music. He regularly took his turntables to friends parties to demonstrate his new skills! This in turn led to getting his first music software program and learning how to produce music.He began to feel that his future was in music and made the decision to give up his full-time work and attend College to study for a Diploma in Music Technology. During this period he began listening to other styles of music such as jazz, soul, funk, rock and this encouraged him to rekindle his love of the drums. After finishing this course with distinction, distinction, merit (triple grades) he then decided to move onto a foundation degree in music performance. This helped with developing his skills as a drummer and resulted in the forming of a 3 piece jazz/experimental band. During his time at college he had also made friends with Vicky Ratclif (vocalalist) and Richard Welch (pianist/composer). Although they were not involved with the jazz/experimental band it would be later realised that their skills would join with Daniel’s to form a studio based outfit! After his short-lived experience with the jazz/experimental band he his now working with Vicky, Richard and Ben in his new studio based outfit. Myspace Layoutsmyspace images
