I would compare you to the stars, the moon, a rose, were I a poet. Alas these meager words must do as they will when I think of you, as I constantly do, I cherish your voice, the way you speak, the way you walk. I embrace your totality and the magic I feel as I hold you, see you. I recall the smell of you, I vainly try to capture in everything you touch. To be apart from you is to be lost, deserted in a grey world, only colorless people. Precious moments when you are mine and mine alone remain as a dream, a dream that fades with every day. I exist hoping only to relive and renew those magical dreams. To hold you, to be yours, and you be mine. My existence is hope, hope of renewing and strengthening that dream I love. To hold you; to love you; to cherish and protect you. To be your and you be mine.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This poem was written by my father, to my mother when she was pregnant with me and he was away on duty as an air force fighter pilot. My father was killed during one of his tours when I was only three months old. My entire life I have dreamed of the kind of love that he and my mother shared. It always seemed unreal to me, I think I even believed that perhaps because he died their love seemed perfect, but when I was old enough to understand this poem I realized that the love they had was not exaggerated. I was once extremely cynical of this love, until I met and fell in love with my husband~ It was an amazing discovery for me, and it has changed my life~ This poem was read by a very dear father like friend of my family at mine and Jason Murphys wedding on September 23.2006 I honestly believe I am one of the very lucky people in this world because I have found this kind of love. I am actually one of those girls that I always wanted to be, but secretly hated because I didnt ever think I would be her. I am officially her though. I have the greatest family ,in- laws, husband ,and the most amazing five year-old step daughter, whose love inspires me. This layout was handmade with love by the folks at My space or yours?
