About Me

..
I made it legible! Aren't you pleased? I'm Paige. I live in Dallas in a house with my husband and our three cats. Sounds exciting so far, doesn't it? Mostly, we spend a lot of time on our computers with sporadic outings to see movies or eat dinner. Occasionally, we even spend time with friends, of which I have very few.
I like to read and write and take long baths. I also like to cook, as long as someone else is cleaning up. I'm afraid of heights, and when I say that, I mean I have a severe phobia of them that is very resistant to anything anyone has ever persuaded me to do in an effort to get over said fear. Despite this, I love flying and hiking and climbing around on big rocks. I've been known to get stuck on the way back down, however. I also like to swim though I prefer the swimming pool to lakes and the ocean unless there's good visibility and something to look at. (Which disqualifies the entire California coastline, with the exception of a singular bay on Catalina Island.)
I'm generally pretty friendly if you are. Otherwise I get irritable, which really isn't any fun for either of us. I don't like drama, so don't start any. I also couldn't give a shit less what you think about me, since I really only value the opinions of people I like or respect in some way. So, yeah. That's me.

My Interests

Reading, writing, swimming, diving, hiking, cooking, driving, exploring, hypothesizing, and shopping.

I'd like to meet:

The man in the moon.

Music:

I like a broad range of music, though I can be pretty particular about what I like and what I don't. At the moment, I listen to a lot of chick music. (Meaning female artists.) I also enjoy a lot of NIN, Marilyn Manson, and random shit I find in my husband's truck. As of right now, I'm listening to Vanessa Carlton. So are you, if you've got it set up so you can hear the song on my page.

Movies:

Of the movies I watched recently, my favorite was Saving Face. I loved it. Also favorites of mine are The Princess Bride, Ever After, Sin City, Boondock Saints, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and Beauty and the Beast. My favorite film actress is Angelina Jolie. Picking a favorite actor would be harder, but it's very much NOT Hugh Grant. If I had to pick anyone.. Well, Brad Pitt looks damn good in a leather mini-skirt. (Troy)

Television:

I like TV on DVD, but otherwise, I watch one show: American Idol. If I remember, that is. I get lost in my books way more often.

Books:

Anything? Everything? I currently have 13 books I have not read that I intend to read in my house. Not counting my textbooks. =) And the only book I've ever thought was not worth the time it took to read was Like the Red Panda, by Andrea Siegal. (I think that's her last name.) She kills herself at the end. It was awful. And not in an ill-written sort of way. More like a, what was the point of making me empathize and put myself into the position of a girl who cuts her own journey short? Lots of books make me cry. Only two have made me lose myself in weeping.

Heroes:

Umm. Jacqueline Carey, Anne Bishop, and Neil Gaiman.
