About Me

‘It reminds me of the vocal experiments of Cathy Berberian and Joan LaBarbara; I like it very much’ – Mark Russell, Radio 3’s Mixing It

'Utterly strange, hauntingly beautiful… made the hair stand up on the back of your neck. Pure genius.' - Portland Press Herald
'Brilliant, Berio-esque vocal effects..' The Times
'wonderful clear diction and a vivid personality' The Telegraph
Composer, songwriter and vocalist mixing up the avant-garde classical with folk, pop, jazz and world music and all the colours in between... Sometimes it's a tiny off-kilter song buzzing in your ears, sometimes it's a 90-minute long music-theatre extravaganza about the Inuit goddess of the sea, sometimes it's an ethereal choral work, sometimes it's a post-rock opus with added radio waves. You take your pick.
COMPOSITION:
Kerry's choral work is published by Oxford University Press and Faber Music and is released on Boreas Music. She has a PhD in Composition from the University of York and writes experimental vocal music and music for theatre. Her work as a composer has been heard on BBC Radio 3, 4 and Resonance FM; her She also works as an animateur for organisations including Wigmore Hall and English Pocket Opera. She is curator of the experimental vocal night series, Gobsmack, in London and is always on the lookout for fabulous new vocalists... !
