“Music……it was always going to be about the musicâ€In 2005, 3 Ring Circus released their first major statement, in the form of their debut album “Between the Lines.†Release nationally by Nova Bomb Records, the album received great reviews and lead to the band being played on National Radio, appearing in front of 30,000 people at their home town Football Stadium and a support tour with Seattle Legends The Posies.
2007 saw the release of the follow up “A Different Light†on Exit Records, 10 songs which saw the band refine their sound further.
But things change…….
The band re-emerged in 2008 with a new sound. More acoustic, more soulful with tender melodies and pop hooks working their way into the listeners subconscious until they have no choice but to hum along. Folk and Country tinges also show through on their new album “Clean Getaway†a culmination of 18 months of song writing, and numerous shows the band used to refine the 13 songs that make up the album. Fans of Ryan Adams, Turin Brakes, Pearl Jam, Tom McRae, Counting Crows and Neil Young will appreciate the bands new direction and their heartfelt musings on life and the universe.
After a number of acoustic shows in New York, Boston and New England in 2007, the band returned to the USA in 2008, to play a 5 date acoustic mini tour of California. A show at the legendary Rainbow Bar in Hollywood was a highlight, as was an award winning performance at the West Coast Songwriters Showcase in LA, as voted for by Grammy Winner Michael Silvershear.
The last year has also seen the band support Miles Hunt (Wonderstuff) Mark Morris (Bluetones) and Chris Helme (Seahorses, The Yards) on their respective acoustic tours
3 Ring Circus….2009…..We will rock you…..but gently!
"3 Ring Circus are a three-piece band from Derby who have been together for a while now, something that certainly comes out in the professional and accomplished tracks on their album Clean Getaway, which is out now through Exit Records." "The Beat Surrender Webzine"
"That sense of Melancholy and longing is captured beautifully on the latest album, Clean Getaway......Here Today features some lovely Jayhawks style harmonies whilst Outsider's lonely piano parts leaving aching holes for the vocals to fill.....they also do a neat line in upbeat material too, as Long Lost kicks up with its summery pop feel.......this band continue to shine" Phil Bramley, Derbyshire Times
