been lookin' all over for a girl like you, can't find nobody so you'll have to do
Dylan's gotta be the greatest really innit...would give it all to have seen him in the sixties - him and hendrix (play Johnny B Goode faster i dare you motherfucker), the Stones, the who, jefferson airplane, the doors and the one and only led zep......like a bit of punk eg. the clash, sex pistols (manufactured band? who gives a fuck, never had so much fun to music as when i first played never mind the bollocks aged 14) and best of all stiff little fingers with the most passionate vocals and manically brilliant drumming i think i've ever heard... Fast forward to stuff that was actually produced while i was alive - DEFINITELY MAYBE DEFINES ME AND EVERYONE IN MY GENERATION it is a fuckin collossus of an lp, it may not be the most technically intricate album in the world but right from the opening notes of rock n roll star it blows you to the fuckin moon and back and anyone who says whats the story is better is simply wrong. Blur's shit at that time was cool but think tank has to be one of my favourite albums, so much goin on. Then there's radiohead who are second only to zeppelin as my favourite band - amazin how they can keep near-suicidal levels of teenage angst goin into their thirties.....Can't get bored of Smashin Pumpkins - get past Corgan's whiney vocals and you'll love em too.....Like a bit of reggae/ska - marley's a given, but cliff, the maytals, dandy livingstone + the skatalites who i saw a few months ago - what a party - are all wicked too, plus love the revival shit like the selecter, the beat, the specials etc. Love UK hip hop - BUY council estate of mind by skinnyman its a piss take, roots manuva's amazin, love jehst (although he can piss me off with his stream of consciousness shit) and ty's got some good tunes as well...... re clubbin, well it's dnb all the way - hype floats my boat in a big way, andy c's a legend, seen bryan g play some cool sets but i reckon mampi's gotta be my favourite - the way he double drops those tunes is a joke plus he's a top bloke..........last but not least Sigur Ros, just got back from seeing them at the Hammersmith Apollo and it was EPIC.
