About Me

USA DEBUT PERFORMANCES COMPLETE
The debut Modulus performances in the USA took place in May/June 2006. Performances at the CAC Philadelphia included electro-acoustic music collaborating with musicians on electric flute and hammered dulcimer. A complete performance was also given of the Modulus arrangement of Terry Riley's "A Rainbow In Curved Air" using a four-channel sound system and computer graphic visuals by Emile Tobenfeld. It was a great pleasure to exchange notes with other electro-acoustic and laptop performers from various parts of the USA. Further Modulus performance dates are now available for the USA, Europe and UK and proposals for collaborations will be welcome.
MODULUS is the experimental electronic, dark ambient and minimalist music project of the London-based musician MARK JENKINS and collaborators. The project has involved performances in London for the LONDON MUSICIANS' COLLECTIVE, THE KEEP, ELECTRONICAGE, PUBLICLIFE, WESTBOURNE STUDIOS and other contemporary arts and music organisations. As well as new improvised electronic music, Modulus performances have included pieces by Philip Glass and "A Rainbow In Curved Air" by Terry Riley
Modulus performances readily accomodate guest artists and can involve the electronic processing of voice, guitar, violin, cello, percussion and other instruments. Modulus performances can accompany spoken word, action art, dance, visual arts and gallery events, and can be incorporated into installations or unusual venues such as industrial sites, underground caverns or science exhibits.
