The California Merrywang and Temperance Society

About Me

The Benevolent Order of the California Merrywang and Temperence Society
From the International Merrywang Society Webpage (http://www.merrywang.com):
What is a merrywang?
For those who may have happened upon these pages with a leaning toward the perverse, you will be very disappointed.
Merrywang or merry-wang is a term that was used in the West Indies to refer to one of the predecessors or ancestors of the banjo.
We members of the International Merrywang Society are banjo players.
We do not restrict membership to any particular type of banjoist.
All are welcome. There are no dues.
Mission Statement and Guiding Principles
To clear up any misgivings and/or misunderstandings that anyone may have about the merrywang, how to use it, and why it is so much fun to play with.
To provide those who play with merrywangs to find others of like persuasion.
To let the world know, with pride, that we are merrywangers, and we will take a back seat to no one.
