Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you: Jesus Christ and The American Soldier. On

About Me

There is a lot to know about me. I am my own person and love the fact that people look at me like I am different because at least I can say I know who I am. If you can't accept me for what I am, then you have no business being a part of my life. I like people with an open-mind. A closed mind won't get you anywhere in life. I like to think I'm simple, but at times I can be difficult. If I don't like you, you'll most definitely know it. I value friendships, but only the real ones. I don't have time for fake people. I have lived in NH 16 years too many. I did live in Louisville, KY for a little while with my husband Jessie since that is where he was from but we found our way back here to my family. I rather live back in Rhode Island where I was born and raised for 10 years or even Mass to be close to my true friends and where there is more to do but my immediate family (Jessie, my mom, dad, brother, sister in-law, and 2 nephews) are here and they mean everything to me. My husband just got back from a deployment in Iraq, it was a long year with out him and I'm just ready to spend every minute I can with him to make up for lost time.THE SILENT RANKS: I wear no uniforms, no blues or army greens. But I am in the military in the ranks rarely seen. I have no rank upon my shoulders. Salutes I do not give. But the military world is the place where I live. I'm not in the chain of command, orders I do not get. But my husband is the one who does, this I can not forget. I'm not the one who fires the weapon, who puts my life on the line. But my job is just as tough. I'm the one that's left behind. My husband is a patriot, a brave and prideful man, and the call to serve his country not all can understand. Behind the lines I see the things needed to keep this country free. My husband makes the sacrifice, but so do I. I love the man I married. Soldiering is his life. But I stand among the silent ranks known as the Military Wife.Loving a Soldier isn't always what they say, And loving him is a high price to pay. It's mostly loving with nothing to hold, It's being young but yet feeling so old. It's having him whispering his love to you, It's whispering back you love him too. Reluctanly, painfully, letting him go, While you're dying inside from wanting him so. Watching him leave with eyes full of tears, Standing alone with hopes, dreams and fears. It's sending a letter with the stamp upside-down, To a far away love in a far away town. It's going to church to kneel and pray, And meaning every word you say. So though you know he's far away, Just keep on loving him more each day. Being in love will merit your dreams, And thoughts of Heaven where love's light gleams. Days go by and no mail for a spell, You wait for some word to hear that he's well. A letter arrives and your heart fills with joy, You're like a child with a shiny new toy. With fingers trembling, heart beating fast, You read it again from first word to last. He's doing well and misses you so, It's filled with the love you wanted to know. Weeks are now months, months seem like years, You're waiting for the day you'll have no more fears. Time passed slowly, but gone very fast, You're barely aware that it's here till it's past. Yes, loving a Soldier brings bitterness and tears, Loneliness, sadness and despondent ears. Loving a Soldier isn't much fun, But it's well worth the price when the time is done. Remember he is thinking of you every day, He's sad and lonely from being away. So love him, miss him and cherish your dreams, ALWAYS BE PROUD TO LOVE YOUR SOLDIER..skem9

My Interests

I love watching baseball (New York Yankees), soccer, softball, piercings(I have 25) and tattoos, sun, moon and stars, fairies, dragonflies and butterflies, candy cane amaryllis, star of holland amaryllis and red roses , different shades of blue and green, leopard print, music, movies, reality tv, being with my family, animals, V-Dub's, making people laugh, having a RI accent, certain foods from RI because you either can't find it here or it doesn't taste the same, the ocean and the smell of the salt water. I can't stand most Red Sox fans, crowded places, snow, really hot days, odd numbers, losing, being late, bad drivers, liars, cheaters, people who don't appreciate the military, uptight people, girly girls, people that judge you by your looks before they even try to get to know you, and people that think there is a such thing as "normal"

I'd like to meet:

People who have respect for themselves and others.

Music:

It depends on what I am doing and how I am feeling but I love music and will listen to just about anything.

Movies:

I love collecting movies and I pretty much watch it all besides SCI-FI

Television:

Now that the Yankees season has started I'll pretty much be watching nothing but baseball.

Books:

The Notebook, The Wedding, any Syliva Browne books, etc..

Heroes:

My husband Jessie for being a Soldier and a Cop, he's doing something that more than half of people wouldn't have the guts and heart to do. My Grandfather, 8/30/06 R.I.P, You'll Forever Be In Our Hearts!Your alarm goes off, you hit the snooze and sleep for another 10 minutes. He stays up for days on end. You take a warm shower to help you wake up. He goes days or weeks without running water. You complain of a "headache", and call in sick. He gets shot at, as others are hit, and keeps moving forward. YOU PUT ON YOUR ANTI WAR/DON'T SUPPORT THE TROOPS SHIRT, AND GO MEET UP WITH YOUR FRIENDS. HE STILL FIGHTS FOR YOUR RIGHT TO WEAR THAT SHIRT. You make sure you're cell phone is in your pocket. He clutches the cross hanging on his chain next to his dog tags. You talk trash on your "buddies" that aren't with you. He knows he may not see some of his buddies again. You don't feel like helping out your dad today, so you don't. He does what he is told. You walk down the beach, staring at all the pretty girls. He walks the streets, searching for insurgents and terrorists. You complain about how hot it is. He wears his heavy gear, not daring to take off his helmet to wipe his brow. You go out to lunch, and complain because the restaurant got your order wrong. He does not get to eat today. Your maid makes your bed and washes your clothes. He wears the same things for months, but makes sure his weapons are clean. You go to the mall and get your hair redone. He doesn't have time to brush his teeth today. You are angry because your class ran 5 minutes over. He is told he will be held an extra 2 months. He does as he is told. You call your girlfriend and set a date for that night. He waits for the mail to see if there is a letter from home. You hug and kiss your girlfriend, like you do everyday. He holds his letter close and smells his Love's perfume. You ditch class to go to a movie. He goes where he is told. You roll your eyes as a baby cries. He gets a letter with pictures of his new child, and wonders if they'll ever meet. YOU CRITICIZE YOUR GOVERNMENT, AND SAY THAT WAR NEVER SOLVES ANYTHING. HE SEES THE INNOCENT TORTURED AND KILLED BY THEIR OWN GOVERNMENT AND REMEMBERS WHY HE IS FIGHTING. YOU HEAR THE JOKES ABOUT THE WAR, AND MAKE FUN OF MEN LIKE HIM. HE HEARS THE GUN FIRE AND BOMBS. YOU SEE ONLY WHAT THE MEDIA WANTS YOU TOO SEE. HE SEES THE BODIES LYING AROUND HIM. You are asked to go to the store by your parents. You don't. He does what he is told. You stay at home and watch TV. He takes whatever time he is given to call and write home, sleep, and eat. You crawl into your bed, with down pillows, and try to get comfortable. He crawls under a tank for shade and a 5 minute nap, only to be woken by gun fire. YOU SIT THERE AND JUDGE HIM, SAYING THE WORLD IS A WORSE PLACE BECAUSE OF MEN LIKE HIM. IF ONLY THERE WERE MORE MEN LIKE HIM.
