Influences: WAY TOO MANY TO LIST..... Lately I've been inspired by tons of 60's and 70's library music (incredible music made for film and television production) from Terry Cavendish Orchestra, Brian Bennett, Alan Hawkshaw to name a few. I don't think I could ever get tired of that stuff. My wife continues to introduce me to tons of 80's indie and alternative, like fIREHOSE, The Minutemen, The Damned, The Fall, Buzzcocks, Television, Gang of Four, and Richard Hell. Thanks to vinyl 'sharity' sites posting out of print rips of crudy, old flea market lp's, I've been uncovering more and more wonderful easy listening stuff, like Enoch Light Orchestra, Ferrante and Teicher, and anything and everything Bacharach I can get my hands on. It seems that I've been listening to a lot of jazz guitar lately... Django, Wes Montgemery, Charlie Christian, Lee Ritenouer, George Benson..... There's also some great newer stuff I'm listening to including The Shins, LCD Soundsystem, Supersystem, Bloc Party, Ariel Pink, Mars Volta. The new Rush has succesfully blown me away. It's nice to hear those guys continue to work up a good tune even though they're now senior citizens. Thanks to the new Rush, I've been dusting off a little classic prog rock like Yes and King Crimson. ... and of course, I've been listening to my wife, Recovery Council who never fails to impress me with how easily music comes to her. I can't forget great radio on WPRB Princeton, Groove Boutique on CD 101.9, the amazing mix at Luxuria.com, and occasional financial news on Bloomberg. I also try to catch New York Noise on WNYC, and Alternative on VH-1 Classic on the tele.
Sounds Like: ....a complete rip off of everything you've ever heard.
