As a kid... The Oldies Station, then... MC Hammer, Vanilla Ice, standard radio on that station with the RnB/rap... Queen, and Type O Negative.
then in middle school I got into stuff like Nirvana, Cypress Hill, The Cranberries, alanis morissette, too short.
As a freshman in highschool I was listening to more gangsta rap and more nirvana and cypress hill... and I didn't find stuff like Pink Floyd and DJ Shadow until I was a sophomore. Wu Tang was a big influence on me. Ol Dirty Bastard was my favorite vocalist of the lot. The Boredoms were luckily introduced to me when I was a freshman... around the same time Wu Tang was.
Dark Side Of The Moon album was my biggest influence during my 3 years as a visual arts major at the Las Vegas Academy of Performing and Visual Arts.
Korn influenced me, and was the inspiration for my vocals on Eat Rats... the track done by Muskrat of Sweetest Peak Indicator - aka Professor Def.
I would say that the people around me have influenced me as well... some of which, include:
Sweetest Peak Indicator
Caused By The Sun
INtERRUpT pRoGRaM
Anamorphosis
For The Klones
Elf Machine
Werd To The Mothership
