...there’s still a little bit of your song in my ear...

About Me

I am simply mad, & I'm in love with a dog. (Those two things are independent.) Thunderstorms pretty much kick ass. I'm generally just really happy to be on this planet; I mean have you looked at the sky lately? Just stood & looked up? Look at a cloud later. Ponder it. Look at a constellation too. You won't regret it. I'm not convinced that I've found my way. In fact, definingn my way is an ongoing internal battle. I have a very real urge to want to be where I haven't been. A lot. (Wanna come with?) Lately, I feel a bit more directed, but am incredibly impatient with the devising of the plan. I want some POOF to wander in, so let me know if you've seen my fairy godmother running around. She's probably at the VFW savoring a Miller High Life without me, dammit. Grass sometimes IS greener, & it's my job to prove it. Hmmm, sand sometimes is whiter too, come to think of it. I need to stand in many places & absorb all that surrounds me. As long as the toilet paper rolls from the top, I think I'll be in good shape. If it doesn't, I'll just go ahead & fix that before moving on.I have finally tired of making decisions for other people. My big heart has generally steered me in the right direction...wait...maybe it actually hasn't. Yeah, it has. My most recent revelation? That it's ME time, emmeffers! Finally. And I have excitement erupting from my soul. I've met a ton of wonderful people along the way & wish I could have a beer or four with BJD more often to ground myself. Who am I kidding, I just want to drink beer with him, forget the grounding. Cheers to the journey ahead!Smile. You don't even fucking know.A few pics from Sint Maarten - just got home on Monday. More to come...

My Interests

being a better me than the day before | anything outside, anything | laughing as much as possible | my puppy love | my family | ending reckless cigarette butt abandonment--click me for sundaydrunks.com

I'd like to meet:

my grandparents' parents, the Wizard of Oz, the inventor of bubble gum, Big Foot, the one who can convince me...

Music:

I like all kinds of music! Perhaps I'll buy a guitar... Damien Rice (I'll see you in September - twice!), Silversun Pickups, Amos Lee, Martin Sexton, Postal Service, Tom Petty, Sara Harmer, my girl Sally covering Patsy, & almost anything BJD is into. (He's a great finder.)

Movies:

Top Gun-duh, The Machinist, The Wizard of Oz, The Bourne Identity, North by Northwest, The Fifth Element, Moulin Rouge, Alice in Wonderland, Ace Ventura Pet Detective, The Big Lebowski, Pulp Fiction, Home Alone, Stripes, Broken Flowers, Little Miss Sunshine, Breakfast at Tiffany's

Television:

Nature, Seinfeld, The Flintstones, Jeopardy, but I haven't seen any of these shows in months. I had cable in the hotel for 2 months - I love Animal Planet & the National Geographic channel - but I can't justify paying for TV in my own place.

Books:

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime [Mark Haddon], The Lovely Bones [Alice Sebold], Angels & Demons [Dan Brown], The Hunt for Red October [Tom Clancy], Emma & Me [Elizabeth Flock], Timeline [Michael Crichton] (but the movie really, really sucks), Diary [Chuck Palahniuk]

Heroes:

Frances - she is still the goodness I see and feel in all things. I would've given anything for her to see a star again, but now she lives among them. Miss you Grandma.

feeling like an eight year old

Tonight, me & Sonny-boy took off on our w-a-l-k.  The loop, if we take it clockwise, features a manmade pond at about 3/4 the way around.  Lots of ducks, geese & a lone swan who is b...
