Drawing heavily from old-school rock and gritty funk, Domino Theory fuses many styles together, including jazz, blues, reggae and freak-out to form a genre bending, progressively original sound. Fully embracing the freedoms afforded of a “power trio†, DT combines intricately composed passages with explosive improvs and explorations resulting in a powerful musical exchange of ideas and energy. Fans and first timers alike are quickly drawn into live performances where the high-energy atmosphere feeds both band and audience alike, producing an experience greater than the sum of its parts.
With over a decade of experience playing together, founding members Alan Lucas (bass, keys, lead vocals) and Ward Woolverton (guitars, vocals) share an instantly recognizable chemistry with Brad Greene (drums, vocals) allowing for creative song writing and fearless live performances. With a constantly expanding repertoire of original music, live shows are never the same twice, leaving fans guessing as to what will happen next. Striving to explore many musical styles and tastes, the one common thread is the Groove.
Playing steadily throughout their home base of Berkshire County Massachusetts, DT is quickly spreading into the North East, sharing bills with such acts as Assembly of Dust , Max Creek , Strangefolk , Zen Tricksters , Gordon Stone , Rev Tor Band and Roots of Creation just to name a few. On stage the band has found themselves graced with the musical presences of members of Deep Banana Blackout, Albert Cummings Band, Flipper Dave, Scarecrow Collection, Dickey Betts and Great Southern, and many more. Since the release of their CD “downtime†in May 2006, Domino Theory is playing venues non-stop, in support of their album. As one die-hard fan said, “Domino Theory has reinvented the power trio.â€
