ELECTRICITY VIBRATING IN THE AIR. JUST BEFORE THE LIGHTINING STRIKES. AND THE STORM RAINS DOWN. STRAY CATS GATHER IN A LITTERED ALLEYWAY. CLAWING AT THE ROTTED FENCE POSTS.
THROUGH A CRACKED DOOR, COMES A DEEP BLUE LIGHT, THE SMELL OF WHISKY, CLOVE CIGARETTES, PERFUME AND SWEAT.

This is what you hear on LAWHEAD "WARM DAY" - Recorded in 2002, following Chris' travels in Central America and other beautiful warm places...

On May 29, 2004 LAWHEAD Recorded "Close" in one day by Christopher Lawhead (Flute, Theremin, Effects, Vocal), Matt Skellenger (Five String-Ten Finger Bass), Ryan Conway (Keys), and Rudy Royston (Drums). Close is a Modern Jazz Roots album recorded in the old style of one day recordings. Only first or second takes were used on this album. No third takes were recorded that day. This recording is special in its ability to capture an honest representation of our music at that time. Enjoy...

Sounds Like: Jethro Tull meets Beck meets Herbie Mann... More accurately this music sounds like Chritopher Lawhead playing Flutes, Saxes, Guitar, and Vox. Matt Skellenger plays Electric Bass, Marc Nahtass plays Keys, Dave Miller plays Drums. On previous albums you hear Rudy Royston, Ryan Conway, Jack Alterman, Tom Gray, John Tally; and a few wild animals layed down some tracks as well. The LAWHEAD Album "Close" has been labeled Jazz Roots, and "Step Up" has been called Flute Rock... Tell us what you think. Leave a comment or a joke. Aloha...
