About Me

Original material, influenced by Latin and African jazz and music from New Orleans, to create music with a groove.A CD entitled Direction South, with liner notes by Dave Gelly, is out now on 33 Records.Although clearly steeped in the music of his native South Africa, Clouts touches numerous other bases on this fun, wholly accessible album, and his deft, lively, intensely rhythmic piano is skilfully complemented throughout by a vigorous but sensitive rhythm section.
