About Me

We are The Perspective, Del Mar's student run ;-) school newspaper. Mrs. Dono-van is our awesome advisor/teacher/resident rapper, (only Vanilla Ice). If any of you alumni want to keep up on all the Del Mar news, or you just want to be entertained by everything that happened in high school that you no longer have to put up with, feel free to mail a $25 check (payable to Del Mar Journalism) to the main office, along with your name and address.

CONTACT US IF... you have any questions or comments about our newspaper, or if anyone has opinion pieces that you would like us to run in our newspaper, you would be interested in running an AD in the newspaper, something happened (concerning Del Mar in some way) and you would like us to write about it, or for anything else...Just send us a message. (or, better yet, send a message to [email protected], because then you know your message will be read.)

We are a strong team that works during 3rd period to let you all know about what's going on in the school! But here is a schedule of all of your classes and what time they start. :)

REGULAR DAY

Period 0 (Daily): 7:00-7:50
Tutorial: 7:55 – 8:25
Period 1/Period 4: 8:30-10:05
Period 2/Period 5: 10:15-11:55
Lunch!: 11:55 – 12:30
Period 3/Period 6: 12:30 to 2:05
Period 7 (every day except mondays): 2:15 to 3:30

COLLABORATION (LATE START) SCHEDULE
NO Period 0
Period 1/Period 4: 9:25 – 10:50
Period 2/Period 5: 11:00 – 12:20
Lunch: 12:20 – 12:55
Period 3/Period 6: 12:55 – 2:15

MINIMUM DAY SCHEDULE
Period 0 (Daily): 7:00 – 7:50
Tutorial: 7:50 – 8:25
Period 1/Period 4: 8:30 – 9:30
Period 2/Period 5: 9:40 – 10:45
Period 3/Period 6: 10:55 – 11:55

I'd like to meet:

Everyone who goes to Del Mar High School. and Joe Montana. :-) but that's just a personal favorite.
Although I guess I shouldn't speak for the entire Perspective staff, this editor-in-chief personally prefers the 49ers over any other football team. (Except Del Mar's, of course.)

Music:

Again, I can't speak for the entire Perspective staff, (I think we have quite a wide range of musical tastes) but I would suggest checking out two local bands, Undergone and Cold Hot Crash, (both of whom have myspaces, so you don't have to go far).

Heroes:

The October issue, of course.

So, the general feeling is, this year is going to be pretty good for the newspaper.  We hope to get an issue out every month, after October, and I guess it's a little early on to say it'll happen...
