I am a bellydancing fish biologist. Yup, thats right. I roll my belly while pulling otoliths. I shimmy my shoulders while disembowling a walleye. I shake my boom boom while blowing up wee bits of fish to learn how much energy is contained within said bits of tissue. Soon I'll do belly rolls while I staple tags into sharks.I have a fiance. He proposed to me on 7/15/07 at Put-In-Bay State Park. He doesn't like fish guts, especially when I remove the entire viscera of a rainbow trout and make him hold it. But he loves me and he puts up with me.I am a Ph.D student at East Carolina University. If you have some comment about it that includes the phrase "EZ U", then you need to just go whack yourself. Ph.d-y-ness is NOT easy! But its totally worth being in charge of my life again!

My Interests

BELLYDANCE!In the past I've tried caving, snorkling, fencing, and rockclimbing. I love horseback riding, but don't get to do it very much. I love the ocean, and Im finally where I belong - back in NC. I also love to travel!I am a big fish nerd. I love research, and learning. The best thing about being a grad student is that you get to be your own boss. Its really tough, but its so worth it.
