After years of touring in two of the swiss most reputable funk bands, Disfunktion and A Few Good Men, guitarist Yves Zahno, who plays also with singer François V (french pop music) and Taylor Savvy (Canadian perfomer amongst Gonzales, Peaches, Mocky) comes back to his first love, rock.
In the summer of 2004, he created a new project, The Bliss, a trio with old friends Alberto and Jan who a few weeks later dropped in the studio for two days of live recording for their first self-titled 7 tracks album. Unfortunately, Alberto had to leave the band after a few gigs. Blaise, another old friend who played in Disfunktion came along as the new crazy drummer.
From melody to dissonance, romantic to roughness, somewhere in between Jeff Buckley, The Police and Van Halen, The Bliss likes a wasted ground more than a virgin one. Like lifes extremes fed by simplicity and instability or fed by the Iranian roots of its singer-guitarist.
This is a powerful and mischievous trio who delights and breathes.
The Bliss was recorded and mixed in Lausanne, Switzerland by prodigy Michel Gallone, assistant sound engineer of John MuttLange (AC/DC, Bryan Adams) and mastered in Hollywood by Stephen Marcussen (Foo Fighters, Hot Hot Heat, Ben Harper, Beck)
