About Me

I am happy and fortunate to have been hailed as 'a composer to watch for' by the NY Times regarding my 2004 Lincoln Center debut of the On the Playground violin concerto, played by Cenovia Cummins and the Riverside Symphony. Earth Caoine (see my video here!) by Richard Stoltzman and the Warsaw Philharmonic was described as 'unapologetically emotional' by Grammophone Magazine - an honor to be so described by the world's leading classical monthly. My scores, recordings and more videos are available from my website (www.keithlay.com) - if you like my music check it out.
I am in love with sound and life and have kept three careers since my 20s: composing, commercial production and teaching. Each career has blessed the other. More recently, I've taught Popular Music History at Full Sail University for 18 years, and love it still. The students I have gotten to know are simply fantastic people. I have developed a specialty in recording acoustic music in surround sound. And, I will always create music that say 'yes' to all that life has given and required.
I want meet other music/sound listener-lovers, composers and artists who understand the power of now.I hope my music resonates with a part of your heart and soul
