MIDNIGHT SCREENINGS IN SELECT CITIES on JANUARY 27 & 28!!!LF!DF! is the outrageous stop-motion animation musical-comedy retelling of the Manson family crimes directed by John Roecker and voiced by a legion of alternative rock icons, including Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day, Rancid/Operation Ivy’s Tim Armstrong, Lunachick's Theo Kogan, AFI's Davey Havoc, X's John Doe, The GoGo's Jane Wiedlin, Benji and Joel Madden of Good Charlotte, and other members of Green Day, Rancid and Blink 182. The soundtrack includes original songs performed by Billie Joe Armstrong and Jane Wiedlin. Tim Armstrong arranged the score and the songs were written by Roddy Bottum (Faith No More/Imperial Teen).
LIVE FREAKY! DIE FREAKY! gleefully pushes the boundaries of good taste as it tells the story of a young man who discovers a copy of Helter Skelter (the definitive book on the Manson killings) in the year 3069 and decides to interpret it as a biblical tome, with Charles Manson as the Messiah. The film flashes back to 1969 and presents a hilariously debauched portrayal of Manson and his followers though the trials and tribulations of teaching the world better living through “music, murder, and mayhem.” Never before has so much sex, violence, and ribald tongue-in-cheek humor appeared in a stop-motion animated production. Paper Magazine recently called it "the most deliciously tasteless piece of filmmaking since John Waters’ PINK FLAMINGOS.”

Tony Hawk, No Doubt's Tony Kanal, Marilyn Manson's Twiggy Ramirez and Good Charlotte's Joel and Benji Madden hit the Steve Allen Theater in Hollywood on Jan. 17 for the DVD release bash of John Roecker's puppet film, "Live Freaky! Die Freaky!" Guests were also treated to an acoustic set by Rancid. The film plays at midnight Friday and Saturday at the Sunset 5 in WeHo....
The DVD release will include a full soundtrack album with performances by Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong and the Go-Go's Jane Wiedlin. Music by Tim Armstrong and Roddy Bottom, audio Commentary with John Roecker, Billie Joe Armstrong and Jane Wiedlin and a number of other extra features.
January 20, 2006 -- GREEN Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong was a no-show at the premiere of his screen debut as the voice of lead character Charlie Hanson in the bizarro claymation Manson Family parody "Live Freaky! Die Freaky!" on Tuesday night. At the raucous after-party at the Steve Allen Theater in Hollywood, "Live Freaky!" producer Tim Armstrong yelled, "Billie Joe, where are you?" while performing with his punk band Rancid. Cast members who did turn out included Good Charlotte rockers Benji and Joel Madden (who was without girlfriend Hilary Duff), skateboarding superstar Tony Hawk, ”The Pope of Los Feliz Village” Sean O’Shea , Tony Kanal of No Doubt and the Official KDP Live Freaky Die Freaky Street Team.
