There is said to be more than 1,000,000 words in the English Language. About a quarter of those words describe many of today's rising hip hop artists. But when discussing Memphis, Tennessee's 'Youngest In Charge', only one word comes to mind.....Greatness!
Lil' NuNu, born Timothy Cole Jr. on August 2, 1987 is the epitome of 'Greatness' in every sense of the word. Coming from the Home of the Blues and a family of musicians, it was clear that NuNu would take a liking to music. At the age of 10, Lil' NuNu began his journey to be a rapper.
In 2003, NuNu's uncle, Clemente "Juvenile" Butts, introduced him to a local rap group he was managing by the name, Young Trojanz, and their road manager, Andre Dugger. After being around the guys, he learned the art of recording and how to format a song.
After parting ways with the group in 2004, Clemente and Andre decided to start their own record label, Major Movz Entertainment and NuNu would be the spotlight artist. They met up with Inevitable Entertainment's CEOs, Yo Gotti and Grip to record a song for a compilation called, "The BlackOut Squad", that showcased local talent. When the album was released, people were eager to find out who this incredible young artist was. Word spread across the city like wildfire about the talented 17-year old.
