[Born at home in Martinsville,Va. on a rainy Saturday morning at 8:00am ;March 25,1950.Moved around a lot during childhood with family working on farms;attending a total of at least seven different schools. My family moved to Danville,Va. in 1964,nine of us into a three room house. We truly were a close knit family.[haha]I married in 1967,first son born Jan.6,1970;second son born Feb.29,1972[leap year baby].[My mother had always carried us to church, teaching us to live right, and she & daddy set the example.]My husband had played guitar for years, just jamming with friends;but in 1976 he had an ephiphany and thereafter began writing Gospel songs.God brought many people into our lives that influenced us spiritually toward sharing the talents we had.In 1982 we decided to record our first album. We chose the name "The Living Water Singers" and recorded our original material. My sons learned miracuously to play musical instruments and our band was born.In the following years we traveled together, doing benefits, concerts at churches,at schools;appearances on television programs. Then,in 1989 my oldest son died in an auto accident;totally changing the direction of our lives.I've always said,"No matter what,God is Good".I pray constantly to be able to make a difference in the lives of others.I feel God has educated me in many areas,in human relations,in suffering,in church work.I continue to be a spiritual seeker;the journey continues. ]
Our main desire is that our original songs will be liked and sung by others.
We've sung before large crowds, and we have stood by the bed of individuals in hospitals and nursing homes to share a song. And we want to share our music with myspace friends.
Influences: Raised mostly in a rural farm community setting; my parents were the greatest influence in my life.I began a sojourn into Judaism about 1995 and have developed a great love for all types of Jewish music. And the teachings of Judaism have added to my influences.Folk music also influenced me with its' story telling style.Much of songs I've written were influenced by scripture studies and life experiences. But,my greatest influence has been my godly mother,Eunice, and my hero dad,James.I learned so much from them.I learned love for God,respect for my fellowman without any
prejudices or bigotry.I learned that I could learn so much from reading and
from other people.Everyone has something to share.I am a romantic at heart,
and have always loved the stories of the damsel in distress, being rescued by
a brave, handsome knight in shining armour.I'm also an optimist.I see 'the glass half full'.I look for and believe there's good in almost everyone.I try to maintain faith in that seed of good in others.Check this out>http://community.webshots.com/user/songbird325 or -http://good-times.webshots.com/album/559067193QOgsBC?vhost=

Sounds Like:
I don't really know who I can compare myself or the group I sing with to.We have a mixture of materal that has sounds ranging from country gospel,to blugrass,to contemporary,to traditional.I've had some people to mistake me for Christy Lane in the past at concerts.I was flattered.I don't know if they were disappointed. We have basically developed our own style.Enjoy!God Bless.Like most people we sound original - like ourselves;though we were
influenced by others.
