The Darkstranger

I am the Darkstranger, the alter ego and arch nemesis of my Simon George. I’m 27, 6’3”, 16 and a half stones brought up in Tottenham, North London. I’m on myspace to try and promote a little bit of my music and let people know what I’m all about. My love of the dance music began in the mid eighties with the growth of house music. Classics such as “The Sun Rising” and “Strings Of Life” to name a couple could be heard blasting out through my bedroom door. I was only 8 years old and didn’t have a clue what I was listening too, but I knew I loved it! The term “acid house” was adopted my the media and I assumed that was the music I was listening too. I followed the steady progression of early house into the UK Hardcore rave scene and the consequent progression to Jungle. This was when my love of the scene really took off. The difference between jungle and drum and bass had always been debatable, but I view drum and bass as a progression of jungle. In 1995 I met DJ Fuse from London’s Rude FM who encouraged me to become more involved in the music and learn to mix. After that I was seriously hooked buying over £100 worth of vinyl a month. I do enjoy other forms of music such as house, techno, garage and grimey but the dnb is always the number one music in my heart. Since 1996 I’ve been producing drum and bass, house and garage tracks in my spare time. I’ve posted a few of my recent tracks for you to listen to.
