..Ben started drawing in earnest when He was 10 years old. working on a chalk board in pastells from a Walter T. Foster Book; "Drawing Puppies" He realised that he was able to skip all of the blocking exercises and simply direct line the shapes and shadows. Soon it was household items then Birds. From there he went on to do figure studies from Vargas and Elvgren and then Portraits. When he got to Highschool he took one art class and decided <<<<<<<<<<<<<<< <<<<<<<<<<<<<<< <<<<<<<<<<<<<<< <<< "This was not the way to go" Being limited by classroom curriculum, he started teaching himself, grabbing any art books he could get his hands on. He would take one Photograph and reproduce the image in graphite or paint. First in Modernism then in Photorealism,Cubeism,Impressionism,Primitive,and Representationalism. Though he has spent most of his life as a house painter Now at 45 years old he can produce pretty much any style he can look at. He has been lucky enough to have sold all of his work privately, some of it before it was even complete! This unfortunatly is also his curse, leaving him with no "Body Of Work" for show, and so.... left him relatively unknown! To remedy this he has recently started work on a gallery series for his first show. In spite of all the work he's done he still suffers extreme anxiety and even some sense of fear........................................................ .......................................................... "Every time I pickup a brush or pencil. I think; I'll never be able to execute this! and that one wrong move could potentialy ruin a painting" ............................................................ ......................................................... As far as I can see there is no reason for him to fear. If success can be measured in any way by the obvious quality of his craftsmanship,... all I can say is; Look out Art World!
