Skateboard decks are manufactured by pressing 7 thin layers of wood together. Each layer of ply is intended to strengthen the board. Trees are carefully selected from certain parts of the map where it is less likely that the wood will be too dry and brittle. Trees are not told of their demise... They are thrown to it.
