Bocco is a three piece acoustic band that performs around the Detroit Metropolitan area. The idea behind Bocco came from its founding member, Denise Boccomino Bach, who was tired of playing in your typical dance/bar bands. After a 12 year run with a Common Ground, a local cover band, Denise decided that she needed to pursue a completely different sound that would highlight her vocal ability. She started Bocco with Joe Gauthier, founding member of Common Ground and together they found Ken Talbot and formed the first inception of Bocco. Playing as a three piece for about a year, they then added percussion by way of Al Berdayes. Replacing Joe on rhythm guitar was the very talented Dan Reynolds. Dan brought his own vocal ability to the group and is a stellar harmonist. After losing Ken and Al, Bocco was lucky to find the talents of Greg Sauceda on percussion and Bocco transformed back into a three piece. In early 2008, Dan left to pursue his own original material and the very talented Ben Harmsen joined the group as Bocco's guitarist. In late 2008, both Ben and Greg left to pursue other opportunities. Earl "The Squirrel" joined Bocco on percussion and the very talented Brian Lord came on as the latest Bocco guitarist. Current line-up: Denise Boccomino Bach on lead vocals, Brian Lord on guitar/vocals and Earl "The Squirrel" on percussion/vocals. The Bocco sound and style is unique, eclectic, and always entertaining. Come on out to a show and see for yourself!
