About Me

A few years ago when he picked up the mic it was clear that there was something more to his story than meets the eye, unlike some other artists who make popular music but have little substance there is something disturbingly different about TDP, without taking shots in particular his rhyme style sounds aggressive and raw with a focus on multi worded emphasis on the rhymes that he uses. Many MCs these days are fresh faced kids who still live at home and have barely felt the pain and socio-economic disappointment that life can sometimes offer, coming from a first generation background to Australia his story is similar to many who see the wretched excess of many Australians in an unflattering light, it is an unfortunate fact that some MCs today are just rich kids living at home trying to be down with the next big thing called Hip-Hop, today there is more of an emphasis on getting the target market of wealthy students waving their hands in the air while they party off their heads to Hip-Hop made by other rich kids who went to the same Uni they went to, or even worse making up names and groups which have no basis in reality other than the fact they chose some funky sounding name out of a hat, it seems the days of hearing a story from the neighborhood backed up by the credibility of a life spent in all the wrong places is well and truly a thing of the past Having weathered a life of addiction as well as seeing friends and family fall victim to the darker side of life he has grown up in the shadows of local writers and hardened crews giving method to his madness, coming from the north side of town Hip-Hop was about fat cap sprays instead of flat caps euro fluro clothing and buying into the latest and greatest trend whether it be Hip-Hop, Electro whatever. Musically his style is uncomplicated and low-fi with an emphasis on being really able to keep the style the same with each rap without the need for expensive studio time and over-produced beats with the same samples you heard last time Growing up in the era of Aus Hip-Hop when crews on the north side were notorious for causing trouble around Sydney and when friends like the "First Lady of Aus Hip Hop" DJ Josie Styles were releasing their first albums he has got ample shoes to fill as expectations for people coming from the north side are great recently teaming up with Sydney beat makers and associated MC's with the occasional touch of international flavor...he's got time on hand and the direction is set ready to loot and plunder on a search for riches, keeping it local he's just rocking it for himself with enough tracks to release an E.P already he is not rushed to put something out but sooner than later you might be hearing more about him, he has worked with local artists such as XRSIZE from Asylum Records, DJ JOSIE STYLES and has beats from local and international craftsmen The first few tracks range in style from from skillfully ignorant to just plain rude are just for starters before the main course they are best described as raw and unmastered to capture emotion behind the lyrics After being recently re-educated after an extensive treatment program he is back on the street with an order to make more tracks for a delayed release Here are some tracks with a few guest speakers on board make sure you check them out and the friends lists for more influencesPROMOTIONAL COPIES OF ALBUM AVAILABLE FOR MEDIA OUTLETS PLEASE CONTACT FOR A COPYOR EMAIL DIRECT FOR DISTRIBUTION AND PURCHASING INFO RELEASES FIGHTING FOR FOOD - 2009 VISIT ME ON Triple J UNEARTHED
