Billy Davis was born in Chicago Illinois as the youngest of 5 children. He moved to Arizona at the age of 10. His beginnings in country music started then as his parents managed and owned several Country and Western Bars. Billy didn't realize that country music was going to become his passion as his beginnings in music began at 18 years of age when his dad bought him his first guitar. In his "Rebellious Period" Billy started as a "Heavy Metal" lead guitarist. Billy's conversion to Country and Western didn't come easy, Coaxed by his mother Billy tried Country and realized that Country Music had heart and soul to it and spoke of life, love, good times and hard ones. Billy's first country job was a country lead guitar player. One night the lead singer failed to show up to a gig and Billy was pressed into service in order to save the gig and the bands paycheck so he began his singing career right then and there. At that same time Billy began writing songs and has currently written over 100 songs. Billy's favorite country singers are Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard, George Jones and Johnny Cash. His writing influences came from the likes of Dwight Yoakam, George Strait's simple ness with story and Conway Twitty's ability to paint a picture in a song.
