About Me

The greatest and most influential British sludge/doom band of all time were pioneers of the scene and were writing music of that ilk long before any of the current crop of similar bands ripping of the style. They were here before you and were heavier than all of you. Sadly, that wasn't Palehorse, though we have been around a while, mind. We have always been people who don't know people, shying away from scene shmoozing or oneupmanship. We are grateful for the dedicated group of people (primarily in Leeds...you absolute losers) who will continue to come to see us play. We are a real band with shit clothes, alcohol problems and a lack of interest in trying to rip off other people's material or play what is around and in vogue at the time. We consider our music art but don't have the right demeanour or look to convince the "right" people of this. Scene kids tend not to like the football shirt/passed out look and we have no interest in talking about how "metal" or "heavy" we are primarily because we are a punk band and because every band that set us in this direction are/were heavier than us. We have no interest in world domination but it gets on our tits when so many people will flock to the next (insert scene band here) gig when we reckon we piss on them. We are also pricks. Unless you're mates with us, in which case, we are awesome. I swear. If you treat us right and don't take liberties we will be eternally grateful and a fucking good laugh. We enjoy it when people think the "new" members are new when the newest has been in the band for over three years and the one before that for over five. We're looking to come and play near you, but you have to cover costs and give us a place to lay our heads that is quiet, dry and preferably warm. That's about all we need. It's important to us that when we ask for a sum of money for a show, people realise that we don't actually get any of it. It all goes to pay for petrol and van hire and to whichever generous and deluded soul is driving us and only if there's anything left over will we possibly be able to buy a bag of chips or take advantage of a six for five deal on crap lager, so when we ask you for a guarantee, we're not being overlord rockstar pricks, we need what we ask for and we can't afford not to get it. It's a pretty simple concept, really.
