Only being a two year recording artist, A.R.O (Anthony Ohnstad) has received some local buzz from his music creations (both vocal and beat production). His first album, Hallway Melodiez, was a personal development for the artist. He used this album as an experiment on his overall skills. Talking on a broad selection of subjects, he was searching for his best style and stay with it for the rest of his writing career with music.
Briefly after making his Debut CD, A.R.O started his own independent label, R-Streetz Entertainment (R-Streetz Ent.for short). After that, several musical careers have been in the works. Kovan, the first artist signed, is the labels most promising artist. He is an R&B artist with Gospel and Hip Hop influences in his style. He released his Debut CD, Bout’ Time, released 5/21/07, with assistance of neighboring indie label, Influential Melodiez. Within the first two weeks, the CD sold 45 copies. Kovan himself will be soon providing a way to sell CDs through the internet. He is soon to work on his second album. Akeem was not far behind Kovan’s signing. He is close friends with A.R.O in middle school, so he made it in easily. But he had a unique style of rapping. With similar styles of ODB and Biz Markie, he is a humor rapper. His album has been in the works for 2 years.
A partnership soon occurred between A.R.O and fellow local rapper, Young Son (CEO of Influential Melodiez). Both artists decided to work on a mixtape, titled New Agenda Muzik. Originally going to be an album, the project was focused on different arrangements of subject matters, such as religion, love, and the pursuit of original hip hop. Unfortunately, the project became held back several times by both artists working on their solo projects and their label’s projects. Therefore, the project was turned into a mixtape and will be featuring different artists from both labels.
Several artists signed with R-Streetz in time. Rez, a close friend of A.R.Os, expressed his interest with working on the label more than once. The first time, he signed and was trying to work on his solo Demon in Tha Treez. Later in that process, he leaved R-Streetz briefly to create his own indie label. He than rejoined A.R.O 6 months later and he started to work on his new project, Home Iz Where The Heart Iz. Nephew signed with R-Streetz after hearing his cousin doing a song with A.R.O on Hallway Melodiez. He had plans on doing his own underground Hip Hop album, My Soul Through The Wire. He than decided to move to Influential Melodiez, seeing it as being more helpful in the sense that it will have him more heard. The two are currently planning an underground album. Doc.Stange, a horror-core influenced rapper signed with R-Streetz briefly, later coming off based on personal problems.
As Hallway Melodiez was finished, A.R.O started right away on his sophomore effort, In This Life…He had spent a year and one month writing this project. It is a concept album, featuring several emotional tracks and dark production from him. Featuring quest appearances by Young Son, M.P.L.S, Max Haben and more, the album goes into several different creative curves. Continuing the subject matter music (“Music Part 2â€), it features several point of views since it features Young Son and the underground lyricist, M.P.L.S. Other standout tracks from the album are, well, everything. Each track to A.R.O has a major significance to his life. Production for the CD was mainly done by A.R.O, but it also featured work from Brian Ricke, Spontane, and Arkreatek. After the CD, A.R.O decided that he’ll stay in the background for awhile. He will be doing production duties and executive producing for projects on R-Streetz and will make small appearances in his artist’s projects. But do not think this is the last time you hear him. He is currently working on his Third album, The Development.
