Muddafuggin ABK -> show some luv! ..†~start=†=praying~†.. your going to need all the help you can get...The beginnings of this family name started around 940 a.d. with a descendant of the Viking King- Stirgut The Stout named Thorfinn Rollo. Rollo invaded France, and took victory over Paris. It was then that, Charles the Simple (French King) surrendered and in settlement granted Rollo control of Northern France. As ruler of Northern France, Rollo accepted the title of the first Duke of Normandy. He then married the daughter of the defeated King and converted to Christianity. In the year 1066 another Duke of Normandy named William invaded England. In history this Duke has been named William the Conqueror. William was a direct descendant of Rollo. There were two Norman nobles who joined William in his English invasion that carried the BURDETTE surname, although spelled differently they were recorded as Hugue and Robert Bourdet. The two brothers Robert and Hugh Bourdet appear in the Role of Battle Abbey and as sub-tenants of Leicestershire in the Doomsday BookIn England, the Burdette family shows it's roots in Leicestershire. It is there that they are recorded as " a family of great antiquity seated at Bramcote, and were ancestors of the Knights of Bramcote."The Burdettes were granted an official coat of arms, issued by the King for loyalty. William Burdet, in 1223, was a member of the crusaders who went to the Holy Land. Prior to their arrival in England, the family went by the name Bourdet, who were Barons of Cuilly near Falaise in Normandy France. Other members of the family included William Burditt who came to Virginia in 1615, and George Burdett who settled in Salem in 1635.[URL=http://www.mybannermaker.com/link.php?nurl=http%3A
