Fruit Roll-Ups is a type of fruit snack manufactured by General Mills in the United States and Uncle Tobys in Australia. Fruit Roll-Ups are an example of a food preservation practice called fruit leather, which precedes General Mills production of the Fruit Roll-Ups brand. The snack itself, is a pectin-based fruit-flavored concoction, wrapped around a piece of cellophane, allowing for easy removal. Historically, Fruit Roll-Ups have featured variants on the original plain sheets such as punch out shapes on the rolls and temporary tongue tattoos.
