Welcome to my domain. My name is Brian, but many call me Chopper. Don't ask me why. It's a long story involving me and this bush monster and alot of peanut butter. Anyway, I am a hardcore christian fundamentalist whacko. I enjoy long walks on beach, virgin daiquiris, forcing my religious views on other people, and blowing up abortion clinics.
Just kidding. I know that some of us can be REALLY over the top, but those people just give the rest of us (who are really trying to live and love the way Jesus would have us) a bad name. Really. My life is all about being real and trying to be the version of myself that looks the most like Jesus.
I once heard John Stewart say on the Daily Show something like, "Have you ever tried to live your life by what this guy [Jesus] says? After an hour or two... you need a little me time." I think everyone knows that's true. I'm here to tell you that I can't do it, and neither can anyone else. In the end, trying only reveals how fallen and selfish I am. But those revelations and the times spent in the gutter bring with them humility and the knowledge that you need God's forgiveness through Jesus, because you can't possibly achieve Christ's perfection yourself.
But let me prove to you that this is not the confession of a hopelessly deluded Jesus freak. I may love the lord, but I'm not disconnected from the rest of the world:
I like Switchfoot and Thousand Foot Krutch as wells as Chris Rice and Ginny Owens. I love to read the Bible and C.S. Lewis as well as Charles de Lint and Stephen King (just finished Dark Tower VII!!!). Favorite movies include Braveheart, Matrix, Equilibrium, Momento, Lord of the Rings, etc. I am a gymnastics coach, and enjoy all physicall stunting that can be classified as "insane" or "crazy." And I am just dumb enough to try those kinds of stunts too.
So I am just a regular guy doing my best the live the way that I know is right. If that makes me a whacko, than I'll wager that everyone is a whacko. But if you still believe that what I believe about God and Jesus is a bunch of crazy garbage, I will gladly listen. Because if you have the truth, than I want it... just don't rule out that it could be the other way around.

And so I am divided against myself. I feel that I am a hypocrite until I am one, when all of the yelling inside of me dies down. I've heard that the truth will set you free. That's what I'm living for: freedom of spirit. I find unity and peace in none of the diversions that this world offers. But I've seen glimpses of truth and that's where I want to run.
