King's Ransom

About Me

The Vinyl re-issue of 'Curators of the Realm' with rare bonus tracks has been SOLD OUT with preorders to the record label before the official release date of 18 Feb!!! We are speechless, stunned, and ecstatic!!!We'd like to thank Kostas at Steel Legacy Records (Athens, Greece) for his patience in working with us to re-issue 'Curators of the Realm'.
Its taken longer than expected, but we hope you'll enjoy the results, especially the rare and raw live tracks previously unreleased.

HISTORY
King's Ransom hails from San Antonio and was the brainchild of John Anthony Alvarado (bassist with Wyzard) . The band was active in the late 80s playing outdoor parties and clubs like Sneakers (now Club Kristal), Crystal Dome, and The Oasis with other metal bands of the day such as Overdrive, Rager, Bondage, Friday. King's Ransom also played a Z-Rock battle of the bands at Sneakers with Krysis, Pariah, Annialator, and Magnus Opus.
King's Ransom recorded their groundbreaking 'Curators of the Realm' EP at United Audio Recording (UAR) Studios with Marius Perron III in 1989 and self-released the effort with a cassette-only run of 300. Cassettes were sold through word-of-mouth and local record shops such as Flipside Records and Hogwild Records.
The song 'The Palace' shared local licks airplay on KISS 99.5 Rock with other local Texas Metal of the day such as Austin's Watchtower and their song 'Dangerous Toy'.
Today, the Curators line-up of King's Ransom is scattered across the United States (Texas, and Maryland) but still have a passion to release many of the more progressive songs that were not recorded on the EP but HAVE to be shared with the world. If you are a fan, you'll know these songs: Witches' Castle, Feel the Power, Ares, God of War, Chess, Lost Masquerade, Nomad's Lust, Kings' Ransom, Tinsel Town, Prophecy Dreams, Judgement Day, etc.
Stay tuned as more details come available about the CD re-issue of 'Curators of the Realm' with rare, previously unreleased songs!
Rock on!
