I have written and recorded songs since I was 12. Mostly used crude devices- tape recorder-etc. Now I use music programs to compose and record my music. I will never say that I am a great singer. I have a lot of shouldn't have's but every now and then I can pull off a song. On my writing style....I need to hold on to my pain and tears, my joy and happiness in order to write a lyric. I don't know why I can't let go, I just can't. My mom was the same way so........ On my music style.... I used to do pop but I got so frustrated with it and the way it's gone. An old love once said to me "why don't you do a dance record" and I've been with it ever since. I do, however do R&B for a good slow song every now and then to break the monotone of it all. For me, R&B and pop music is so much easier to do than dance. Most dance loops are so well produced that it can be difficult to mesh everything else together. So when I finish a song that's to my standard, I come away very satisfied, if the mood in my voice is what I originally set the goal for.... If I had to give my vocal a style it would be a new one that could only be called Prowl and Lurch.
