About Me

My name is Tim. I play the guitar. I sing. I write songs which I subsequently play and sing. Sometimes in public. Sometimes they're good. Sometimes they're rubbish. When I do play in public, I'm usually rubbish (ask anyone in Bournemouth about Syd Barrett night, or the time I forgot all of the words to all of my songs). Some of my songs are nice and are about people I like. Other songs are not nice and are about people I don't like. Or, they're about people I know not liking people they know. Possibly me, in fact. These days, I'm mostly into the country-verite scene on Toronto's Queens Street, 1920s US folk, 1960s British folk scene, 21st century anti-folk, Americana and the protest songs of the Thatcher-era folk-punk scene. And a few bits of other stuff here and there, detailed in all its glory in my influence list. The other thing is, I make films. This is generally what I do. I have a few music videos on the way soon. I also have a thirty-minute 16mm drama on the way soon (see film-makers list at the bottom of my influences if you want to know what they'll be like). And I'm writing three features and a play, which keeps me very busy.If I've added you and haven't spoken in ages, please say hello. If you've added me and have yet to speak to me, please say hello. If you want to spam me, please don't say hello (I refer you to my James Blunt blog).Ta.
