Once upon a time, I was a music journalist. I worked for
Melody Maker from 1985 to 1995, interviewing artists like Nirvana, Primal Scream, The KLF, Soul II Soul, Guns N’ Roses, Aphex Twin, NWA, Underworld, De La Soul and Pulp. Then I was the editor of
Muzik for four years. Then I was the editor of
Mondo for a bit. Then a witch turned me into a cartoon. Now I write books. Sometimes. My latest book is
Rat Scabies And The Holy Grail. Published under my real name, Christopher Dawes, it's the story of how my punk superstar mate Rat Scabies dragged me around France and Scotland on a lunatic quest to find the Holy Grail. It's been described as "The Da Vinci Code gets the punk rock treatment". It has been reprinted several times in the UK and the US. It's also been translated into German and Russian.
I also have a myspace page dedicated to Rat Scabies And The Holy Grail, which you can find here:

As well as Rat Scabies And The Holy Grail, I am also the author of:
The Book Of E - All About Ecstasy (co-written with Mireille Silcott),
Pussy (a collaboration with Steven Appleton, Paul Thompson and Mark Wernham), and
Bitch (another collaboration with Steve, Paul and Mark).
