I am a 32 year old folk singer living in Worcester, England. I sing regularly at The Somers Traditional Folk Club in Worcester, which meets every Friday evening, and also at various other clubs and sessions in and around Worcester. I perform mostly traditional folksongs, usually unaccompanied or occasionally with guitar. I also play various other instruments, including whistles, recorders, melodeon and keyboard.
I have produced two 'albums' - 'The Kitchen Sessions' (2005) and 'The Signs and The Tokens' (2006/2007) using Garageband on my iMac and which can be found on my website www.codepoetics.com/rebecca_fox
There are also some recordings made with Layla and Oli Whitworth. We are known collectively as Commonlore and have a separate MySpace page.
I also perform as part of a group called Foxtail Soup alongside my father, Bob Fox (a.k.a "The Other Bob Fox" or occasionally "The Real Bob Fox" if we're being cheeky, in order to avoid confusion with the well known singer from the North East) and my friend, John Taylor.
Finally, in my "day job" I work for Worcester Live which incorporates, among other things, Huntingdon Hall and The Swan Theatre. Folk music is generally very well represented as part of a very varied programme, so it's well worth checking out if you live locally or are visiting Worcester.
